Michael Huberty-Barthen - CrunchyFair founder

We from CrunchyFair see ourselfs in the service for the consumer and stand for a healthy eating and a conscious, sustainable approach to nature . . .

. . . how it all began . . .

You can think we are hopeless romantic, but we simply love nature, green meadows and fields and a fair, responsible treatment of nature, its ressources and with the own body. Thus a sustainable and conscious diet is the state of the "eating" art for us. From this point of view our favorite foodstuffs are fresh organic products everyday. . . once from our garden or from the farm- or organic shop next door.

In the summer of 2015 we wanted to improve our health and as part of that decided to revise our diet and to start a self-experiment. Our challenge: for six month, we wanted to eat only vegetarian, organic food.

The challenge included no added sugars and fats and - to make it even harder - no carbs. This plan got us to (literally for the first time) read the list of ingredients on the back of groceries we had been buying. And, we were shocked to see that almost every food item to some degree contained added sugar and fat!!

The immediate consequence for us was to no longer buy instant meals or cans, but only fresh, unprocessed food items found their way into our shopping bag. As we were determined to keep going with the no-carb diet as well, we had to give up bread and cereals as well, which was a major change for our eating habits.

The immediate consequence for us was to no longer buy instant meals or cans, but only fresh, unprocessed food items found their way into our shopping bag. As we were determined to keep going with the no-carb diet as well, we had to give up bread and cereals as well, which was a major change for our eating habits. This lack of alternatives sparked our creativity and so we started to bake our own vegan, organic crunchy muesli… and the rest is history.

Our best eating wishes . . .
